The 'Trees of Tucker' project highlights the diversity of our native trees and features a self guided walking tour. Trees of Tucker was established in 2011 as a DeKalb Master Gardener Project. Lee Leach and Dwn Hines originally started the project and the Grand Opening was May, 2011. TOT is a sister project with Tucker Butterfly Garden. Dan Niccum is the official leader of that project but he has many helpers. Dan has improved the site immensely. He has and is still adding metal identification signs to most of the 46 different tree species, 42 of which are native. Dan has also been instrumental in adding native shrubs to the Trees of Tucker site.

Our current booklet is a little cumbersome and expensive to print. We are hoping to change our method of dispensing this information with laminated maps and tree info about all 46 trees. But, that is still a work in progress.

Regularly scheduled workdays for Trees of Tucker are the second Thursday of each month, excluding December and January. Volunteers are always welcome to come to TOT workdays. You do not have to be a Master Gardener to volunteer.
